Walls
Yowls ring out through the walls,
Out of sight,
A sense of dread as it crawls.
It craves a fight,
Thrashing impatiently in the night.
Even when hidden,
It proves perilous,
Wanting nothing more than to be bedridden,
It sounds careless.
It seeps through the cracks,
Lurking in the dark,
Walls creaking from previous attacks.
It croaks with a bark,
Yearning to make its mark.
Another cat emerges,
They’re getting through,
Another one of their purges.
What is one to do?
