Best High School Movies To Watch

Expectations and standards of what High School is going to be like always falls back on popular High School movies. And whilst it's important to note that real-life is definitely not like one of those films; doesn't mean you can't watch them anyways.

Here are our top picks for the best movies set in School:

Clueless (1995)

Can’t tell you how many times I have rewatched this classic! From the outfits to the witty comments… it’s the ultimate ‘feel good’ film to watch on any occasion.

Mean Girls (2004)

Home to some of the most iconic lines and characters.. you just can’t go wrong with this comedy-drama. It’s so fetch!

Ferris Bueller's Day off (1986)

(Don’t get any ideas…) but probably one of the most abstract, genius and fun movies I have ever seen!

The Breakfast Club (1985)

What happens when five high-schoolers, each with different mindsets are placed into detention together on a Saturday morning? This classic will show you!

Heathers (1988):

The dark, but unforgettable humor in this coming of age film; alongside the clever dynamics of characters makes this a movie so fun to watch- as it unravels the problems teenagers experience during high school.

Grease (1978)

John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John and a soundtrack that just never dies. This legendary film will make you wish it were 1959. It’s Electrifying!

Wild Child (2008)

If you have ever thought about going to Boarding School in England, this is a tale on what not to do!

Lady Bird (2017)

The cinematography, creativity and talent projected in this Award- winning film is definitely worth the watch! If you’re up for something a little more urban and real; this is the movie for you!

Ten Things I hate about you (1999)

Heath Ledger isn’t the only thing that makes this movie worth watching ! This modern retelling of Shakespeare’s “The taming of the Shrew” hits the rom-com jackpot!

Princess Diaries (2001)

Ever had a visit from your long- lost grandmother turned you into the heir to the throne of a European Kingdom? Neither have I… but this film will show you what being a princess is really like. Bonus points if you can sing the national anthem of Genovia off by heart!

There it is! What is your favourite high-school movie?

I hope you enjoy watching (or rewatching) these. Let us know if we missed any!

Love, Hannah M.
